Prior to co-founding Hatch Henderson Fivel, Jennifer was a partner with Major, Linsdey & Africa.  Jennifer was recruited to MLA in 2007 and was consistently a top producer and very respected recruiter within the firm.   Prior to recruiting, Jennifer was a litigation associate for over seven years – first as an associate at O’Melveny & Myers and then at a boutique firm started by former big-law partners.  Because Jennifer was a practicing lawyer herself, she can empathize with the considerations faced by lawyers developing through their careers and making important lateral moves.

Jennifer is known for her integrity, discretion and straightforward approach, as well as her ability to articulate the differences between law firms from a strategic, financial and cultural perspective.  She takes the time to understand her candidates’ career goals and priorities in making a law firm move so she can advise them in making the best move to achieve those goals.  She thoroughly enjoys getting to know the lawyers she works with and develops deep long-term relationships with them.  Jennifer is driven by seeing the lawyers she counsels succeed throughout their careers.

Jennifer is a thought leader in the legal and recruiting industry.  She routinely shares insight into market trends with journalists and is often quoted in national and local legal press.  She is called upon by firm leadership and legal recruiting organizations to speak on the legal market and recruiting topics, and she has been invited to speak at annual NALP Education Conferences on various topics.  In addition, Jennifer regularly speaks at top law schools to advise students entering the legal profession.

A native Chicagoan, Jennifer now lives a mile from the beach and won’t return to the cold.  She is a devoted mom to her two daughters and is very involved in their school and outside activities.  She also leads both daughters’ Girl Scout troops.  Jennifer is an avid yogi and a healthy lifestyle/food/fitness guru.  Her guilty pleasures are watching Chargers’ football, stand-up paddling and long hikes exploring new travel spots.
